We are looking for a talented, smiling, enthusiastic Assistant General Manager who cares deeply about culture, hospitality, and a positive work environment. We offer health, dental, and vision insurance after 60 days. 80 hours of paid vacation for the year is prorate and available upon hiring. After a year of continuous full-time employment, we offer 120 hours of paid vacation.

Job Purpose: Our Assistant General Manager cares deeply about our culture, maintaining the highest professional food quality, sanitation standards and service standards while providing effective leadership of our staff. Assistant General Managers are responsible for providing guidance, and effective leadership, to compel all team members to strive for excellence. Assistant General Managers support the General Manager and work closely alongside the management team. Candidates must have a desire to work in a chef driven venue and possess a desire to learn about food, wine, and beer.

Duties and Responsibilities: The primary job duties and responsibilities of being a Assistant General Manager include but are not limited to the following:


  • Manages front and back of house managers and their rolls

  • Re-writes weekly focus boards

  • Assists with keeping job descriptions up to date

  • Manages bar inventory and reporting to the General Manager

  • Manages bar and alcohol program

  • Responsible for all venue operations

  • Prepares materials for weekly manager meetings

  • Ensures compliance of health code standards, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety regulations

  • Ensures TABC and Food Handler Compliance

  • Develops guest relations

  • Responsible for the planning and managing of service, including reservations and events

  • Responsible for and assisting with hiring and terminations

  • Responsible for enforcing handbook policies and company protocols

  • Appraise staff performance and provide constructive feedback to improve productivity

  • Responds to e-mails and correspondence quickly and efficiently

  • Attends and conducts weekly meeting with all levels of management

  • Develop weekly training opportunities for pre-shifts

  • Close attention to detail

  • Promise to maintain the company's brand and image through hard work, service, and sincere love of hospitality

  • Works on special projects

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Tiny Boxwoods Productions require the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the position of Assistant General Manager:


  • Minimum two years of experience as a manager in a similar environment

  • TABC Certified

  • Texas Food Handlers certificate

  • Excellent guest service skills

  • Good memory

  • Flexible availability in scheduling

  • Capacity to multitask

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Friendly!

Working Conditions: The incumbent will be working in a restaurant setting, on the floor with guests, in the kitchen and dish area. Potential hazards include but are not limited to cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.

Physical Requirements: The incumbent is required to stand/walk for long periods of time. Incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be able to constantly move around in the restaurant.
