Job Description:


ECS is seeking a TS-cleared System Administrator to support one of our mission critical programs for the Department of Justice. We offer the chance to support the world's finest law enforcement organization and help the people that keep us safe. In this job you will support agents, analysts, and professionals and technology they use to fight terrorism, espionage, cyber-attacks, and major criminal threats.


We are seeking candidates committed to high quality to provide reliable system administration support. As a System Administrator, you will collaborate with customers and stakeholders, often engaging directly with non-technical personnel, to understand their IT and system related needs, suggest solutions, and provide dependable technical support in a timely manner. This position provides system administration support in a mission-critical response operations environment.


Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Configure and setup Standalone Development and Integration Networks.
  • Install hardware in racks and perform basic networking function, such as DNS NTP DHCP and assorted other protocols.
  • Install and configure web services and Java application servers.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain secure baselines.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems; replace defective components when necessary.
  • Perform and maintain system backups.
  • Analyze audit logs and application logs.
  • Perform system metrics analysis.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system setup, processes, procedures, and configurations.
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.


Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000

Required Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Must have a current Top-Secret Clearance with the capability of obtaining SCI-CI Poly.
  • A minimum of 9 years Systems Administration experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of managed network appliances, switches, routers, firewalls, and time code systems.
  • Ability to build systems, install operating systems, patch, configure, and troubleshoot systems issues.
  • Ability to configure and setup air gap networks with no Internet access.
  • Ability to manage startup scripts and management of other automated systems.
  • Experience with Linux operating system platform.
  • Experience coding shell scripts and modifying existing shell scripts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of RAID and other redundancy techniques.



Desired Skills:

  • Professional Certification - CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA Server+, Network+, CCNA.
  • Experience automating system patching, configuration management, and compliance auditing using industry standard tools.
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative, team environment.
