Metrology Technician at The Factory, Merritt Island, FL


Job Summary



We are seeking Metrology Technicians to join our team at The Factory located in Merritt Island, Florida. As a Metrology Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring precision and accuracy in our manufacturing processes. If you have experience with laser trackers, spatial analysis, and interpreting mechanical drawings, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities

Perform Inspection Surveys:

• Utilize advanced metrology tools, including Laser tracker, Creaform Metrascan, Laser radar, and GSI photogrammetry (D850), to conduct inspection surveys.


• Independently complete surveys using provided instructions, templates, and methodologies.


• Collaborate with Blue Origin personnel for emergent work scenarios.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Create detailed reports using Spatial Analyzer (SA) or Microsoft Excel from survey data.


• Maintain accurate records of survey results and discrepancies.


• Use existing report templates as a guide.

Technical Expertise:

• Read and interpret complex mechanical drawings.


• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to capture precise data.

Quality Control and Inspections:

• Perform first article inspections and inspections at various production stages.


• Provide feedback to machinists, technicians, and engineers based on dimensional data.


• Document and track discrepancies.

Equipment Management:

• Program, set up, and operate laser trackers.


• Maintain calibration records for all inspection equipment.


• Support process improvement initiatives.

Configuration Control:

• Ensure proper configuration control for files and job records.

Qualifications


Mandatory Skills

• 
  Trained Metrology Technicians with experience in:

• Proficiency in Spatial Analyzer (SA) for independent survey completion.


• Ability to work without written instruction/methodology when needed.

Desired Skills

• Experience in Aerospace/Aviation Large Volume CMM and additional proficiency with Laser tracker and general Metrology.

Compensation

• 
  Shift Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM


• 
  Rate Card Pay: $46.20 per hour
