Director, US GI Franchise Leadership and Health Equity

 

This role will be responsible for leading strategy and execution against Leadership Initiatives across the Gastroenterology franchise in the US. The GI franchise has made significant investment in leadership initiatives focused, in part, on advancing the cause of women in positions of leadership in GI and growing and evolving our Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Framework for Change . The IBD Framework for Change is a multifaceted approach to addressing healthcare disparities that impact vulnerable populations living with IBD. We aim to help historically underserved patients receive quality, culturally conscious care - especially early in the disease lifecycle. The leader will need to partner closely with the Pfizer GI cross functional team, and with trusted community organizations and other relevant external stakeholders.

 

This role will collaborate with members of the GI Marketing, Thought Leader, Strategic Customer and Rheumatology teams in the US and globally to lead the development of key initiatives (e.g., educational, awareness and outreach resources) designed to address unmet needs in IBD and establish Pfizer as a leader in the Inflammation and Immunology space.

 

This role requires a passion for patients and health equity; a keen ability to problem-solve and think boldly; strong communication, project management and execution skills; adaptability and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

 

The role will report to the incoming US Velsipity Marketing Lead

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Key responsibilities for the role include:

 

  • Own IBD Framework for Change execution and evolution
  • Support the continual evolution consumer and HCP-focused educational platform, culturally conscious care resources, and access education and resources
  • Collaborate with key Pfizer stakeholders - including Commercial, Corporate Affairs, Public Relations/Comms, Access, Medical Affairs, and BAI - to ensure cross-functional alignment and execution
  • Collaborate with key external stakeholders (in partnership with Corporate Affairs) to ensure community input and engagement
  • Act as critical point of connection ensuring consistency and clarity of purpose across leadership initiatives being implemented across brands and customer within the Rhu/GI franchise
  • Partner with members of the broader GI marketing team to support other key initiatives designed to address unmet needs in IBD. Example tactics include mental health support and shared decision making resources.
  • Specifically, 1) help ensure the tactics are inherently diverse, equitable and inclusive in their development and execution, and 2) identify connection points with the IBD Health Equity work to establish Pfizer as a leader in gastroenterology
  • Effectively manage agencies/vendors to ensure the work is executed on time, on budget, and is of supreme quality
  • Facilitate periodic check-in calls with the Pfizer GI Franchise Leadership Team to give status updates, secure endorsement at relevant milestones, etc.
  • Measure KPIs and optimize tactics based on results and learnings

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Prior experience with DE&I initiatives preferred
  • Passion for driving change and improving the standard of care for underserved patient populations
  • Comfort operating in areas of white space
  • Prior experience launching brands, campaigns, or other initiatives preferred
  • Demonstrated success in developing, executing, and measuring complex programs or initiatives
  • Strong team player with ability to gain alignment: Effective listening and communication skills - gathers input from key stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure, to take accountability for business challenges, think strategically and boldly to tackle complex problems.
  • Proven track record of operating in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Ability to execute in the face of ambiguity or change
  • Strong business acumen with excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide variety of internal and external audiences, including senior Pfizer leadership and senior management from external organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors and individuals to impact business performance

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. * The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $134,300.00 to $223,800.00.
