Who are we looking for?

We have an opportunity for a Key Operator to join our team in Morristown, TN. The shift hours for this position are 8pm to 8am.

What will you be doing?

Ensure line conditions and product quality are maintained within S.O.P. specifications. Keep work areas clean and ensure all EH&S procedures are consistently followed. Achieve manufacturing goals and objectives. Communicate in an effective and courteous manner at all times with supervisor, co-workers, and support groups. Ensure supervisor and support groups are notified of any problem that may affect safety or quality.

Who are You?

Ideally you will:

  • Able to perform all responsibilities within the production operation (Extruder Operator, Sigma Mixing, Line Inspector).
  • Understands the operation of all equipment on the production line. Able to start and stop all equipment and properly respond to problems.
  • Able to perform splices, product changes, screw pulls, start-up and shut-down tasks.
  • Able to monitor, adjust, and maintain all line conditions.
  • Able to recognize quality problems and respond properly, including communication with supervisor and support groups.
  • Understands and is able to follow all production Work Instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Knowledge of ETQ / Document Control.
  • Ability to access Wonderware trends and evaluate problems.
  • Able to calculate B/X to obtain proper floor.

What competencies will you need?

  • High school diploma, or equivalent with 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Maintain awareness of quality and process conditions throughout shift:
  • Make effective decisions to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Timely response to prevent / minimize problems with communication to supervisor and support groups.
  • Ensure all pertinent manufacturing and process data is accurately documented and closely monitored.
  • Ensure that manufacturing and process data are used to spot trends and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication to Line Inspectors regarding quality, safety, process or raw material changes.
  • Participate in action plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Operate forklift, crane, pallet jack and calculating equipment.
  • Follow correct procedures for product changes, splices, and related duties.
  • Monitor, adjust, and maintain gauge, line conditions, and inspection equipment.
  • Assist in training co-workers as required.
  • Follow correct procedures for labeling, handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and related materials.
  • Understand and comply with all safety and housekeeping policies.
  • Understands and comply with all company policies.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training classes.
  • Work overtime and alternate work schedules as required.
