We are hiring an Covenants Associate to join our Corporate Finance Group - Covenants Team in New York City!
The Covenants Associate will provide day-to-day support to the SVP - Head of Covenant Research and VP - Senior Covenant Officers in New York City by:
Drafting Covenant Quality Assessments, which provide a detailed analysis of the negative covenants and other significant investor protections in all material high yield bonds issued into the North American market (training will be provided on subject matter and process)
Supporting the senior team members in drafting topical and trends-related research on the high yield bond, leveraged loan and private credit markets
Maintaining the North American high yield bond covenant databases and assisting in the maintenance of the global covenant database
Preparing statistical graphs, tables, and spreadsheets to enable analysis of covenant trends, in conjunction with senior team members
Generating research slide decks for use in external and internal meetings
Being an active participant in ad hoc projects
Collaborating with global team members, as required
Note: Training on legal concepts will be provided and prior experience with the drafting and review of bond indentures and credit agreements is not necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field of study
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (EXCEL, PowerPoint, WORD)
Comfortable working with complex data sets (i.e., accounting and statistics)
Proficiency with GenAI and other similar value-adding tools, and how to use them to effectively streamline processes, enhance decision-making, and drive project innovation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workflow/priorities
Strong attention to detail, research and organizational skills
Familiarity with Bloomberg and FACTSET preferred
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $78,500 - $113,750, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
