Summary of Role:



GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Engineer for its Chemical and Slurry Engineering and Operations team. The selected candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and continuous improvements to Chemical and Slurry Blend and distribution systems, and Regulatory compliance with all City, State, and Federal guidelines. You will be heavily engaged with our onsite Total Chemical Management (TCM) operations contract team. In addition to your strong technical role, you must be able to work with the management team and Module Engineering to ensure constant uptime of all the systems under your area of responsibility. This individual must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal direction. The individual will report to the Fab 8 Manager Facilities Engineering Chemicals & Slurry and will be located at Fab 8 in Malta, New York.



Essential Responsibilities include:



  • Take ownership of specific High purity Chemical and Slurry distribution systems.


  • Become knowledgeable of the design, facilitation, operation and maintenance of Chemical and Slurry Distribution systems as assigned.


  • Primary contact for your systems' issues/incidents and resolution. Follow up incident and CAR review with QA and users. Update incident tracking system.


  • Actively participate in problem solving sessions with Process and AME tool owners to develop hypotheses and DOEs and to generate corrective and preventive actions


  • Ensure systems maintenance is completed as scheduled and documented accordingly


  • Track tool requirements do not exceed system capacities and make recommendations for additional capacity when required.


  • Develop spare parts list and budget for your systems. Write Purchase Requisitions and ensure parts are ordered. Receive and inspect parts and close out through Oracle.


  • Perform and update FMEAs on your systems.


  • Write and review procedures to ensure all major activities are covered by procedure.


  • Daily review alarm logs and operating trends for your systems. Monitor system up time and proactively prevent issues. Monitor for "out of control" and "out of specification" conditions to correct and document as required.


  • Actively participate in all engineering studies, problem solving sessions and contribute to system improvements and line of defense(LOD) improvements


  • Build relationships with internal customers to ensure their tool needs and requirements are met.


  • Provide weekly management reports to status ongoing projects, incident reviews, and weekly activities.


  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Facility Work Requests.


  • Review and approve tool hook-up design packages and assign Chemical and slurry points of connection.


  • Plan, coordinate, and execute warm-down projects and annual testing.


  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or chemistry with Relevant experience in engineering.


  • 4+ Years of Experience in semiconductor industry in facilities or manufacturing engineering position or Water/Waste treatment (Operations/engineering)


  • Dynamic, resourceful self-starter with good analytical, organizational, leadership skills and interpersonal skills


  • Experience using structured problem-solving techniques and lean tools.


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


  • Available and willing to flex work hours as needed to support emergency operational issues







  • Preferred Qualifications:




  • experience with high purity Chemical and Slurry distribution systems and/or their Fab applications


  • experience with System and/or Tool start-up and commissioning including Chemical Turn-on, line flush and tool communication interface


  • Experience with high purity chemical analytical requirements, analytical methods and contamination control,


  • Experience with high purity chemical use in the fab environment and their quality control and assurance processes.


  • Advanced experience with SPC, Structured problem solving (8D- Approach) and SAP systems.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


  • Strong planning & organizational skills.





Expected Salary Range

$77,000.00 - $142,000.00


The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
