Pay Starts at $24/hour


SUMMARY


Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery/ equipment by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


* Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as PLC's, drives, control panels.
* Design and installation of new electrical control panels.
* Must possess basic mechanical skills such as the ability to replace faulty or broken shafts, bearings, sprockets, chains and any industrial mechanical equipment
* Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
* Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
* Tests malfunctioning equipment and discusses findings with operators, cell managers and engineers to support day to day operations.
* Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, drives, PLC's, components, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices.
* Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
* Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


* Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY:


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:


* State drivers (non - CDL) license
* Forklift operator's license
