The Edge of Appalachia (EOA) Stewardship Crew Lead is a 9-month, full-time, short-term position based out of the EOA field office just east of West Union, OH in Adams County. This position is part of a 3-person team, working in collaboration with permanent EOA staff, to advance the preserve's management, stewardship, and restoration goals. Work activities will be overseen and directed by the Appalachian Forest Manager, through frequent, but not daily, interactions. Land Stewards will be responsible for a variety of land management activities as well as associated equipment preparation, use, and maintenance; use of GPS unit and related devices; accurate record keeping; and other responsibilities as assigned. In addition to work at EOA, Land Stewards may infrequently work at one of TNC's other southern Ohio preserves.
They may assist in prescribed burns and maintain tools, equipment and land. May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances. Requires considerable physical exertion and/or muscular strain.

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $19 - $21 per hour. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges.
