Job Description:

Vertiv is hiring a Director, Program Management Materials & Inventory in Westerville, OH or Anderson, SC to lead and manage all inventory programs in Americas to achieve target Inventory Turn Overs (ITO) / Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO). Furthermore, drives and support other Materials and Manufacturing Planning programs.

Director, Program Management Materials and Inventory Leads plan for every part for Americas. Develops and leads inventory reduction programs. Develops and follows up on metrics for inventory reduction projects. Develops and drives programs to achieve target ITO and DIO. Monitors Delivery Frequency and inventory planning parameters in ERP. Interface between all plants and departments. Leads and supports excess and obsolete management, drives AMER actions and follows up. Further drives other Materials and Manufacturing Planning programs to improve processes and systems.


Responsibilities


• Drives monthly Inventory and Trade working capital reporting, preparations, and reviews with senior management.
• Reviews and follows up on projects to reduce and optimize inventory with purchasing and planning teams. Metrics include but not limited to backlog and work order alignment, purchase order alignment, delivery frequency and top 100 items.
• Reviews and follows up on planning parameters with material planners and materials departments across Americas to make sure they are aligned with plan for every part according to ABCXYZ classifications.
• Follow up and track implementation of procurement inventory programs.
• Review with materials team excess and obsolete reasons and actions.
• Drive other improvement programs impacting inventory, planning, and purchasing processes and tools.


Education & Certifications


• A bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial engineering, economics, accounting, or a related field is often preferred. Desirable a master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field.
• In addition to education and certifications, relevant experience in materials management, inventory management and project / program management, or a related field. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization.


Experience

• 10 to 15 years of inventory and materials management

• Director, Program Management Materials and Inventory is responsible for analyzing materials planning parameters, identifying areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions to address those areas. In order to successfully fulfill these responsibilities, the Director, Program Management Materials and Inventory should have a combination of knowledge, skills, and personal qualities. Here are some key requirements for an Inventory Program Manager:
• Analytical skills: needs to be able to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to the materials organization. Should be able to identify patterns, trends, and issues in the data, and use that information to inform decision-making.
• Business knowledge: should have a good understanding of the industry in which the organization operates, as well as the specific products and services that the organization offers. Should also have a broad understanding of business processes and best practices.
• Technical knowledge: Position should be familiar with various technologies and software programs that are used in the organization, as well as the technical aspects of the organization's products and services.
• Communication skills: should have good verbal and written communication and presentation skills, as they will need to communicate with various stakeholders, senior management, managers, project owners, and end-users.
• Problem-solving skills: Position should be able to identify problems, develop and evaluate potential solutions, and implement effective solutions.
• Project management skills: Position should be able to manage projects related to the implementation of solutions, including creating project plans, managing resources, and monitoring progress.
• Adaptability: Position should be able to adapt to changing business needs and priorities and be willing to learn new skills and technologies as needed.
• Overall, the role requires a diverse set of knowledge, skills, and personal qualities, and it is important to continuously develop and enhance these requirements to be successful in the field.
