Lead Marine Engineer

Looking for an engineer that can independently and expertly analyze ship system performance and develop solutions. Requires US Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (NAME), 15+ years marine engineering experience with 1 year internship/full-time in US NAME company. Occasional overseas travel.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a related Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 15+ years of experience in marine engineering. Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering ABET accreditation program in the US. Minimum one-year internship at a recognized Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering company in the US. Knowledge of mechanical/marine engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues. Critical thinking skills to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, load calculations, statistical analysis, and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally, may visit or be temporarily assigned to an operating plant or to reside in an office on-site for the duration of a project. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, and work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
