MUST HAVE RECENT MAJOR FINANCIAL SERVICES EXPERIENCE.
This role is responsible for the smooth operation of Agile/Scrum team processes and activities. This includes organizing and facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sizing sessions, backlog grooming sessions, and end-of-sprint ceremonies as well as creating dashboards & reports to show team productivity. The Scrum Master serves as the impediment remover and Agile coach/guide for the team.
Essential Functions
Coach the scrum team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices, disciplines, and value to be consistent, effective, and productive team(s)
Build a trusted and safe environment within the team and coach team members to work effectively through self-organization, accountability, and driving team ownership of building successful outcomes
Work closely with Product Owners, Tech Leads, Portfolio Leads, and stakeholders to understanding of the product strategy, vision, and priorities to ensure development delivery is aligned and to ensure backlog items are have clear and concise acceptance criteria to ensure 'as-expected' results for each sprint deliverable
Facilitate backlog grooming with Product Owners and teams to ensure the priorities, understanding, and dependencies are understood prior to sprint planning
Develop and maintain backlog management processes and ensure that security, infrastructure, and operational requirements are represented by stories in the backlog, prioritized appropriately, properly groomed, and accepted by the applicable team(s)
Drive sprint planning to ensure Agile/Scrum teams are set for success in their commitments
Remove impediments for the Scrum team to ensure continuous flow through the team
Create partnership and coordinate with partner functions to ensure team's development work is reviewed in a timely and efficient manner
Drive continuous improvement through facilitating retrospectives and owning action plans
Create dashboard and reports that provide consistency and productivity metrics and can provide teams and the organization with relevant product delivery status
Work closely with program and project management to ensure release plan alignment to program and project schedules and delivery
Participation in scaled Agile ceremonies (e.g. Big Room Planning preparation, Big Room Planning breakouts, and weekly scrum of scrums)
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Scrum Master Certification (CSM)
Minimum 5 years Agile, Scrum, project management or related experience with a software development or data team that applied Scrum principles, practices, and theories
Experience in financial institutions with background in the data processing environment, application systems, and communication systems
Demonstrated leadership ability, business acumen, and industry knowledge to lead efficient Agile Teams and their goals
Requires applicable knowledge of the technologies use by the Scrum team
Requires deep understanding of patterns and techniques in managing Sprint ceremonies, handling of bugs/defects, and variations of leading productive teams
Requires working knowledge of Agile tools (e.g. JIRA)
