The IT Director is tasked with managing the company's technology platform, including hardware, software, servers, and networks. This role involves close collaboration with the company's Managed Service Provider (MSP) for server, network, and cybersecurity oversight. Additionally, the IT Director manages desktop support, external vendors, and various IT initiatives, while also handling general management duties typical of leading an IT function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and collaborate with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) on servers, networks, cybersecurity, and data backup and recovery.
Manage all aspects of hardware and software, including selection and implementation.
Oversee the hardware lifecycle.
Supervise external developers working on company applications.
Support and drive technology initiatives and projects.
Manage external vendors, such as those for telecom and cabling.
Conduct cybersecurity penetration testing.
Supervise help desk activities and provide backup support as needed.
Establish and enforce technology policies and standards, including BYOD, user desktops, password management, and data loss prevention.
Maintain an asset inventory and software listing.
Handle all IT contracts and agreements.
Develop and maintain network topology and infrastructure architecture diagrams.
Create and manage annual budgets and capital investment plans.
