About the Role:
As an IT Support Engineer, you'll play a vital role in supporting the client's technology infrastructure. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading computer hardware and software for the client's diverse departments.
Employment Terms: 6 - 9 months contract, but high possibility to extend or convert
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade computer hardware and software
Serve as a help desk point of contact, assisting users with application questions and technical problems
Document and manage the lifecycle of computer hardware (inventory, configuration management, and disposal)
Thoroughly document support requests and troubleshooting procedures, identifying opportunities for proactive measures and communication to address broader issues
Assist with configuring, testing, and deploying computer images
Collaborate with vendors and external departments to find solutions, support employees, and resolve problems
Help maintain security by managing user accounts, permissions, and utilizing security tools.
Assist with planning and executing department-wide IT projects
Identify and report technology-related security concerns, such as malware, phishing attempts, and inappropriate access
Key Qualifications:
Strong understanding of troubleshooting principles for information systems and computer networks
Proven ability to configure, manage, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers in a Windows environment
Experience installing and maintaining printers and other peripherals
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work effectively within a local government environment and respect established chain of command
Commitment to providing excellent customer service and resolving issues efficiently
