We are seeking a CFD Engineer who will come join us and hit the ground running.
Responsibilities:
Build models and create computational meshes to perform CFD simulations.
Perform aerodynamic CFD simulations to support development and refinement of our aircraft.
Responsible for airplane trade studies and configuration design analysis
Develop and maintain high-fidelity aerodynamic databases for use in airplane performance predictions, external loads calculations and real-time Simulations.
Correlate and validate CFD results with higher or lower-fidelity simulations, cross-code comparisons, wind tunnel experiments, and flight tests data.
Develop and improve the software methods behind the modeling tools and workflows.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
5+ years of experience in fixed- wing aerodynamics with BS
Strong background in fluid mechanics and CFD.
Strong competence running NASA Overflow and/or Fun3D CFD software required.
Proficiency using 3D CAD software (e.g. CATIA, NX) and applying CAD cleanup tools.
Proficiency in Python and/or Matlab scripting.
Familiarity with aircraft certification standards (14 CFR Part 25 or Part 23)
