About the Role:

The Front Office Engineer is the permanent technical representative of R&D to assure interfaces between VALEO design centers and the customer's office for all P0/P1/P10/P2/P3 VLS project team in the domain of INTERIOR LIGHTING. The Front Office Engineer facilitates communication for all subjects relative to R&D between Valeo and the customer, in terms of technology roadmap knowledge, RFQ, convergence on design/style, prototypes deliveries, technical meetings all along the product's development. They will support the R&D/project/quality/sales VLS networks in order to ensure perfect understanding of customer's needs & contribute to high quality & quick technical answers under responsibility of appropriate Valeo's Development Sites.

Responsibilities Also Include:
  • Creates and manages relationships between Technical Customer Teams and Valeo in the field of R&D P0/P1/P10/P2/P3 projects, in order to increase intimacy with the customer in the domain of INTERIOR LIGHTING.
  • Requires strong communication skills to work with global VALEO Design Centers.
  • Responsible of alerting in case of potential issues in technical relationship between Valeo and Customer
  • For P3-P2-RFQ projects:
  • Responsible to deliver accurate and direct information from customer sources (technological road map, customer benchmark, ) to support business development before receiving RFQ
  • Analyses and makes pre-evaluation of customer technical requests and translates/ensures perfect understanding of requirements by VALEO Project Teams.
  • Participation in the creation and presentation of technical & commercial offers in coordination with RFQ Teams of the DC's
  • Ensure the correct understanding of the customer expectations. To get approval from customer about Valeo technical concept during RFQ phase
  • For P0/P1/P10 projects:
  • Technical interface (bi-directional) between Customer Technical Teams and Valeo R&D PTMs, including on site meetings, as list of open points, customer compliance matrix approval, drawings, specifications, specific customer documentation, customer standards, manuals, translations, etc.
  • Responsible to identify technical customer changes, contribute in new R&D hours budget preparation and supports to get a technical agreement from customer on Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  • Monitor and submit Data Transmissions with right usage of specific customer tools
  • Participate to validation activities at vehicle level with customer and ensure that the results are shared with P1 team
  • Responsible for first level of technical analysis and collecting relevant information in order to facilitate the warranty analysis by DC
  • Applies the Valeo's procedures and environmental, safety and security good practices

What You Should Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial field of study preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in related fields.
  • Requires strong communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in automotive lighting is preferred, but not required.
