About the Opportunity

Working in support of our National Fleet, the Fleet and Safety Administrator is responsible for providing management, coordination, and technical support to the company in all areas of vehicular accident reporting, accident cause analysis, collision repairs, and fleet registrations and equipment inventories.

Administratively overseeing the development of our Safe Drivers Bonus program, Driver's training and customer support in the event of a vehicle accident, this role may be expected to travel 10% to visit various facilities to conduct safety spot checks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform weekly review of all accident reporting and work with the field and the driver safety training manager to coordinate corrective strategies
  • Prepare professional reports, conduct safety briefings, and act as company spokesperson for all internal and external accident reporting
  • Advise on various safety and operational issues and provide emergency response as needed
  • Work with the Corporate Fleet Manager to develop and implement safety program elements and training aids to comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform investigations of all vehicular accidents and loss incidents
  • Manage safety training and record keeping via UKG for all employees
  • Manage the national inventory of trucks, cars and material handling equipment
  • Assist with life-cycle tracking and strategies for vehicle ordering
  • Develop and manage the relationships with the body shops nationally
  • Lead and manage the fleet due-diligence tasks for all acquisitions
  • Manage the licensing of newly acquired and company owned vehicles
  • Develop and manage the external on-site fuel program strategies, vehicle parking citations and FMCSA infractions nationally.
  • Manage the tracking and disposition of the retired fleet efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain DOT compliance and regulations for vehicles and employees, as required
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with the complete Microsoft Smart Suite with expertise in Microsoft Excel to complete fast and accurate data entry
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Ability to prioritize excellent customer service and interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and external vendors
  • Self-motivated and effective team player with strong leadership skills, to include organization, time management and follow-up skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • DOT medical card a plus

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required, with preference to OSHA related majors.
  • Years of Experience:
  • For entry-level employees, 0 years of experience are required; candidates will receive additional on-the-job training and certifications through the company.
  • Associate to Specialist level employees with 1-3+ years of experience in the following areas are preferred:

Insurance claims processing/body repair estimating, fleet management

Knowledge of regulations related to OSHA, DMV, FMCSA, DOT and Hazardous Material Handling

Knowledge of 5 Keys of the Smith System Defensive Driving methodology
