We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Purchasing to join our team and drive our procurement strategies to new heights.
What you'll do:
The Director of Purchasing will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the purchasing department, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the company's HVAC and plumbing operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management in the HVAC and plumbing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive purchasing strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
Lead and manage the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring the best terms for pricing, quality, and delivery.
Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and procurement metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Collaborate with internal departments, including Operations, Sales, and Finance, to forecast demand and ensure timely availability of required materials and services.
Oversee inventory management to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies related to procurement and supply chain activities.
Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring effective cost control and financial performance.
Required for success:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably within the HVAC and plumbing industry.
Proven leadership and management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
