We are looking for a Controller for our client - a chemical manufacturing company. This newly opened role requires an experienced professional to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic financial management and hands-on accounting expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Oversee asset and liability management, financial agreements, financial planning, strategy, budgeting, and reporting.
Reporting & Analysis: Produce and present monthly financial reports, narrative analysis, KPIs, and maintain accounting records.
Cash Management: Maintain a cash conversion cycle (DIO + DPO - DSO) of less than 45 days.
Budgeting: Update budgets quarterly and ensure commissions are paid by the 15th of the following month.
Internal Controls: Establish and enforce checks and balances, policies, and procedures to protect the company's assets.
ERP Conversion: Lead the transition from Chempax VB6 to Chempax Dot Net.
Team Leadership: Manage and develop the Finance Department staff, including Staff Accountant, IT/ERP Manager, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Buyer.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 10 years of proven strategic Controller experience in chemical manufacturing.
Education: BA or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Software: Proficiency in Chem Pax software.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication.
Critical Success Factors:
Achieve sustaining goals within the first 6 months.
Establish companywide controls on transactions impacting P&L and balance sheet.
Implement a margin maintenance system providing accurate and visible margins with a batch costing system.
Ensure the finance department is well-staffed and able to support the organization's financial needs.
Convert financials from consolidated to segregated by division.
