Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, or Business Management (preferred)
Must have AT LEAST 6 years of experience with federal financial management OR:
CPA, CISA, PMP, CGFM, or CDFM combined with 3 years of federal accounting experience
Roles and Responsibilities:
Remediation of the valuation of Operating Materials and Supplies
Preferred familiarity with the following standards for financial accounting:
SFFAS 3 "Accounting for Inventory and Related Property"
SFFAS 48 "Opening Balances for Inventory, Operating Materials and Supplies, and Stockpile Materials"
Audit Liaison support
Develop/support development of audit walkthroughs
Coordinate meetings/walkthroughs with the auditor
Support audit sampling/follow-ups
Respond to "prepared by client" requests
Interpret audit findings and develop appropriate responses
Development and management of Corrective Action Plans to remediate Notices of Findings and Recommendations
Communicate remediation progress and roadblocks with senior level management
Report on and manage project planning efforts for the remediation of OM&S valuation
Communicate and drive remediation efforts with applicable project managers
Development of research papers and memorandums to support remediation efforts
Continue to develop/document Standard Operating Procedures to capture relevant OM&S valuation processes
Evaluate and review real property and general equipment as part of the internal control and audit processes
Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and present suggestions for improving efficiencies and controls
Ensure the readiness and smooth completion of financial statement audits.
Qualities and Required Experience:
Knowledge of GAAP, FASAB, GAGAS, ICOFR:
Familiarity with OMB Policies and Federal Financial Management Systems:
Familiarity with DoD Policies, Systems and Procedures
Familiarity with Current Trends in Information Technology
Financial Statement Audits and Audit Readiness Services
Proven experience in a managerial role in, preferably in federal financial management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge and experience with A-123, Real Property, and General Equipment Knowledge of DoD's heritage assets.
Strategic thinker with the ability to perform in depth analysis of financial transactions.
Support status reporting development and delivery to the client.
Self-managing and self-motivating individual.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated experience conducting audits or providing audit support.
