Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are in search of an experienced and ethical Director of Finance to lead our hotel's financial operations effectively. The Director of Finance will offer guidance, training, and support to the management team, focusing on enhancing profitability, ensuring precise financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and complying with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Manage staff to execute on the below

- Act as the "Chief Business Officer" to the general manager and executive team, assessing the financial implications of business decisions.

- Promptly alert management to any financial discrepancies from established policies or weaknesses in controls.

- Manage and address cash flow concerns, prepare cash-flow statements, oversee receivables, cash balances, and deposits.

- Monitor hotel revenues and expenses, ensuring accurate recording as per guidelines. Analyze variances to budget or prior year and propose improvement strategies.

- Support management in capital planning, including return evaluations on capital investments and overseeing the bidding process.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and operational taxes. Provide compliance assistance to management.

- Coordinate forecasts and budgets with input from the executive team and department heads.

- Analyze financial data to aid management in maintaining financial goals.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and conduct timely bank reconciliations.

- Audit internal financial controls, covering purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, credit extensions, inventories, and payroll.

- Recruit, train, oversee, and develop finance staff to cultivate a growth-oriented environment.

- Uphold standards and regulations for a secure and efficient hotel operation.

- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and periodic upgrades of all IT systems and equipment.

- Prepare financial reports as per requirements, meeting various deadlines.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in hotel accounting or related field.

- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting/Finance and 4 years of related experience, or

- Associate degree with 6 years of related experience.

Salary:

120k-130k base, 35% bonus, 401k matching up to 4%, full benefits covered
