The Legal Billing Specialist OR Financial Information Resource Management (FIRM) Specialist provides assistance and support to the FIRM Managers and the Head of the Global FIRM team. This role will review, analyze and report on client maintenance data as needed. The position will focus on the team applying quality control, utilizing best practices, applying Global standards and process and Ad hoc request as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Support FIRM team Managers and global Head of FIRM team.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Head of FIRM team and FIRM Managers.
  • Assist in the coordination and review of the year-end client special billing arrangements project.
  • Assist with maintaining Client Relationship Partner (CRP) designation.
  • Assist with establishing global procedures for departmental service level expectations and best practices.
  • Preparation of statistics for measurement (number of requests submitted, productivity statistics, matter type statistics, number of new clients and new matters, etc.).
  • Assist with the accurate implementation and maintenance of global client rate agreements.
  • Analyze systems and processes, investigate ways to improve, automate and streamline processes, and provide feedback and recommendations for possible improvements.
  • Serve as a Firm expert regarding all aspects of client/matter maintenance.
  • Ensure the department provides excellent and timely customer service and problem resolution to firm attorneys, client account specialists, clients and other firm personnel by employing best practices and utilizing available firm resources and systems.
  • Ensure that the firm's information security policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Complete security awareness training, within a reasonable period after joining the firm, and apply the policy and training requirements when handling information.
  • Inform a manager or senior member of the Finance Department about any suspected breaches of security.
  • All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our Responsible Business volunteer program.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and high-level problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines with an accurate work product and prioritize workload appropriately.
  • Ability to work, interact, and communicate with business services employees at all levels and attorneys.
  • Take initiative beyond routine responsibility.
  • Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly.
  • Experience working independently, as well as within cross-functional teams, in a collaborative, professional environment.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • College degree preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience preferred, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Law Firm Accounting/Finance experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.

HOURS

Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., including lunch hour. Must be flexible to work overtime to complete assignments - including weekends, if necessary. Limited time off in December and January, with the exception of firm holidays.

The annualized salary range for this position is $67,000 to $93,000 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. In addition, full time employees as well as some part time employees, will be eligible for the firm's fringe benefits as they currently exists.
