Job Description:

Robert Half Management Resources is actively sourcing for Senior Level Accounting / Finance professionals in the Sarasota, FL area at a Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, and/or Accounting Manager level open to contract / consulting opportunities, some of which come with the potential for hire. The ideal candidate will be comfortable generating frequent financial reports for senior management. They should track financial information in a well-organized manner and assist a Controller or CFO in all aspects related to finance at the organization. This candidate should be comfortable analyzing balance sheets in order to forecast revenue and keeping track of accounts payable and receivable. Prior experience leading or actively participating in an efficient Month-End Close process is another key to success in this role. Lastly, a strong working proficiency with ERP systems and ancillary tools for reporting or business intelligence is a highly coveted skill to be set up for success in these roles.

Responsibilities
  • Generate financial reports for senior leadership
  • Active participation or leadership of an efficient month-end close process
  • Oversight of or active participation in regular maintenance of the General ledger
  • Monitor and analyze balance sheets, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and industry specific compliance with regulatory standards, as well as SOX compliance, IFRS, and Technical Accounting (if applicable)
  • Maintain mindset of continuous improvement / business process optimization in regards to processes and technology
  • Aid senior management in forecasting business revenue
  • Support Controller and/or CFO in all financial matters of the organization
  • Monitor taxes and provide details for audits

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field of study required
  • CPA or other relevant certifications considered a huge plus
  • 5+ years of professional experience in corporate accounting and/or FP&A, prior Senior Level or leadership experience a plus
  • Strong working proficiency working within ERP systems and ancillary tools used in conjunction with them
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particular Microsoft Excel
