What We're Looking For: Field engineers are passionate about mission critical systems deployment, management, and monitoring. Our product line covers many diverse areas such as distributed service-oriented architectures, low-latency telecommunications processing, and high availability. Each of these areas in a mission critical environment contains their own unique and difficult problems to solve. As such, a strong technical foundation coupled with the desire to learn, grow, and solve hard problems would make for a strong addition to our team.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Field Engineering team providing technical support and field services in integrating, testing, modifying, and repair for the Voice Switching and Networking product line. We are seeking disciplined, effective Field Engineers with a progressive track record of excellence, using strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities. Technologies include networking, digital and analog interfacing, Internet Protocol, microprocessor and analog components, and proprietary and commercial software components.

Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties:
  • Hands-on integration of software and hardware components including software installation and configuration, network configuration, and telecommunications hardware integration.
  • Implements IT system solutions for networking, computing, and our propriety communications equipment including conceptional, functional, and physical views.
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
  • Conduct site surveys at customer locations to identify requirements for production and installation.
  • Prepare deliverable documentation describing site requirements and system configuration.
  • Install, service, and complete basic repairs of equipment at customer sites.
  • Integrate mission-critical systems components and perform system debug.
  • Conducts factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, failure location and analysis.
  • Supports system production team to troubleshoot and solve production issues.
  • Organize and provide detailed product and service training as necessary.
  • Solve complex field issues in coordination with the system engineering and development team.
  • Interface with customers.
  • Provide required reports to management staff, showing customer, type of equipment involved, status, and field resolution of complex service assignments.
  • May participate in remote system monitoring, maintenance, and tier 2 on call support.

Experience in the following technologies:

Operating Systems (RHEL, Windows)

Scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python)

Log aggregation and reporting (ELK/Opensearch, Splunk)

Network analysis tools (Wireshark, Stablenet)

System monitoring tools (Zabbix, SNMP)

Virtualization (ESXi, KVM, Red Hat Virtualization)

System security management and intrusion detection tools (IdM, SSL, IPSec/VPN, SELinux, AIDE)

Telecommunications protocols (SIP/RTP, ED-137)

Experience in routing and networking technologies

Qualifications:
  • BS in Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience with IT systems and engineering.
  • 3-9 years' experience in Systems/Field Engineering integrating, deploying, and supporting integrated hardware and software solutions in the area of networking and communications.

Demonstrates the ability to implement and apply best-practice engineering concepts.

Excellent problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.

Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Special Notations or Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be willing to travel up to 80% depending on project requirements.
  • Customer sites for system installations, testing, on-site troubleshooting as required
  • Internationally to receive equipment or technology training at company headquarters in Vienna, Austria, whenever applicable and possible
  • Finger printing and job-related background check will be required
  • Must be authorized to work in United States and obtain clearances to work on Government sites
