Job Description:

Our client, a successful financial technology and services company, currently seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cyber Analyst to join their dynamic cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive threat assessments, taking proactive actions to mitigate risks, designing secure access guidelines, and implementing security solutions using advanced tools such as Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, and SecureWorks. This role is crucial in safeguarding the organization's digital assets and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of their information systems. This position will require the selected candidate to work in the company's Edison, NJ office and may require occasional on-call support and the ability to respond to security incidents outside of regular business hours. Hybrid/remote work options are potentially available for the right candidates.

Responsibilities:

Threat Assessment and Mitigation:
  • Conduct in-depth threat assessments and risk analyses to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor and analyze security incidents to determine the root cause and impact.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.

Incident Response:
  • Lead incident response activities, including the identification, containment, eradication, and recovery from security incidents.
  • Conduct forensic analysis to support investigations of security breaches.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during security incidents to ensure timely and effective resolution

Secure Access Design:
  • Design and implement secure access guidelines and policies to protect sensitive information and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Regularly review and update access controls to adapt to evolving security requirements.

Security Tools and Technologies:
  • Utilize advanced security tools such as Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, and SecureWorks to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Configure, manage, and optimize security solutions to detect and prevent cyber threats.
  • Perform regular security audits and assessments using these tools to ensure ongoing protection.

Collaboration and Training:
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security measures into all aspects of the organization's operations.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior analysts and other staff on cybersecurity best practices and incident response procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports on security incidents, threat assessments, and risk mitigation activities to senior management.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of security incidents, threat assessments, and mitigation efforts.
  • Develop and present detailed reports and dashboards for various stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on threat assessment and incident response.
  • Extensive experience with security tools such as Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, and SecureWorks.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
  • Proficiency in network security, endpoint security, and threat intelligence.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
