**Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite in Cary, NC, must be local.**

Our railroad client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their team.

Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Pay Rate: $55.00 - $58.00/hr on W2

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be taken into account when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting is a reflection of a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided pay range.

W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer:
  • Minimize the number of production escapes
  • Support user acceptance testing
  • Support or conduct system testing, performance, volume, and stress testing
  • Incorporate secure coding practices
  • Collaborate with business and UX team to create appropriate application User interfaces
  • Assist with mock-up's, user interface design
  • Incorporate UX components into application
  • Provide feedback to UX team
  • Ensure system can meet or exceed defined SLA's
  • Resolve production issues and communicate resolution to appropriate stakeholders
  • Complete stories within estimates and with quality to ensure release dates are met
  • Conduct necessary analysis, design, and prepare technical documentation
  • Work with infrastructure services to make configuration changes and deploy applications
  • Exhibit technical leadership in given technical subject domain
  • Identify new technologies and approaches that may improve our quality, productivity, and capabilities
  • Mentor peers and junior developers

Requirements of the Senior Software Engineer:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 7 years of technical experience
  • At least 7 years of Java/J2EE Web Development experience
  • hands-on experience in these technologies a must in last 3 years
  • Experience in defining requirements, designing, and illustrating process flows, and training users
  • Experience is working with Docker and Kubernetes environment, hands on experience in building docker applications
  • Experience to work with AWS cloud native services likeS3, EC2, CloudFront, Lambda, ELB, SNS, CloudWatch and Route53
  • Experience to deploy application components in AWS EKS cluster and to debug any issues
  • Experience in using Aurora Postgres RDS for database
  • Experience with Agile software development methodology
  • Expertise in front-end technologies like Angular, Spring MVC or equivalent
  • Expertise in Spring, Spring Boot and hibernate or equivalent ORM
  • Expertise in using version control software like git, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues effectively
  • Ability to provide technical expertise to others and explain concepts with technical staff
  • Ability to operate independent of supervision with extreme accuracy and attention to detail
