About the Role: QA Architect - Technical Gap Remediation

We are seeking an experienced QA Architect to lead the remediation of technical gaps in our Quality Engineering (QE) tooling and frameworks. This critical role will involve assessing our current QE processes, identifying inefficiencies and areas for improvement, and architecting robust solutions to address identified gaps. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality assurance, software testing, and architecture design, with a strong focus on optimizing testing tools and frameworks.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of our existing QE tooling and frameworks, identifying technical gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, technical constraints, and quality objectives.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap for remediating technical gaps in QE tooling and frameworks, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact and feasibility.
  • Design and architect scalable, best-practice solutions to address identified gaps, leveraging emerging technologies and industry standards.
  • Lead the implementation of remediation efforts, collaborating closely with development teams, QA engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to QA engineers, facilitating the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Conduct code reviews, performance evaluations, and technical assessments to ensure quality and maintainability of QE tooling and frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain documentation, standards, and guidelines for QE tooling and frameworks, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in quality assurance and software testing, incorporating relevant insights into our technical roadmap.
  • Integrate QE processes into the overall software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps pipeline through cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a QA Architect, Technical Lead, or similar role focused on quality engineering tooling and frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with various testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, Appium).
  • Strong proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in agile environments and familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB), software architecture, or related fields are desirable.

Location: Hybrid in Dallas (2-3 days onsite)

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $130,000-140,000 annually. Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
