Piper Maddox is working with an Engineering firm that offers engineering and project management services to the electrical and gas utility industry across North America.
This role focuses on leading a transmission line design team to deliver safe, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering services.
You'll provide technical expertise for complex projects, including renewable energy integration and grid modernization.
Responsibilities include project management, budget oversight, and proposal support.
Key Duties:
Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
Provide leadership and expertise in solving complex transmission line engineering problems.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Create and interpret technical documents, drawings, and reports.
Collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines.
Support proposal development and cost estimation.
Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or Electrical preferred).
5+ years of experience in electrical utility transmission line design.
Proven ability to manage projects and lead teams.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., PLSCADD, PLSPOLE, MFAD).
Working knowledge of industry standards (NESC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desired Skills:
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience with renewable energy interconnection projects.
Experience in site visits and construction oversight.
Experience in proposal and contract preparation.

Salary $110,000 to $160,000 depending on experience, location and qualifications
