We are seeking a highly qualified Quality Control Manager to oversee a renovation build project in Ridgecrest, CA. The ideal candidate will have a 4-year engineering degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience working on federal projects. Experience with NAVFAC projects is highly desirable. Candidates must also possess EM 385 and OSHA 30 certifications.
Responsibilities:
Design - Provide review of all design documents, ASI's and RFI's to ensure coordination of all Trades/disciplines and ensure no conflicts with current IFC drawings. Assist project management team with document control.
Submittals - review all submittals for signature by the lead QC Manager. Submittals will be reviewed by the Superintendents/project managers for completeness, conformance to subcontract scope, formatting and packaging prior to review by QC Manager.
3 phases of Control - assist Lead QC Manager in preparing for preparatory phase meetings; Facilitate Prep meetings with Lead QCM; complete Initial Phase inspections; complete final inspections; maintain rework/deficiencies log; inspect corrections made and sign-off on rework/deficiencies.
Field Inspections - process inspection requests, schedule and manage all special inspectors
Weekly gov't QC Meeting - Assist Lead QCM to prepare for and lead Gov't QC Meeting.
Material Deliveries - Inspect and log all material deliveries
Site Observations - conduct daily site walks to ensure conformance of work in place, material storage and inspections with contract documents. Interact with Gov't QA (Engineering Tech) to ensure conformance to approved CQC Plan.
QC Program - update CQC Plan as necessary for changing project conditions. Provide feedback for improvement of current QC Program.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality control on federal construction projects
