About the Position
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our ground support equipment (GSE). Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems and components. You will contribute to the research and development of new technologies and provide technical assistance in production-related issues as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Assist in development efforts for ground support equipment and related systems, including hydraulic systems.
- Conduct research and development of new technologies for RCL equipment.
- Prepare technical proposals and quotes based on research and development needs.
- Provide technical assistance in production-related issues and field issues.
- Develop and manage ground support equipment mechanical architecture, its related sub-systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Direct preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bill of materials.
- Establish priority for work related to others, understanding that needs will fluctuate.
- Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to team members and shop floor employees as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of prior experience in a mechanical engineering role, along with AutoCAD experience to compliment
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Understanding of hydraulic systems and their applications.
- Willingness to learn the ground support equipment industry; prior experience is a plus.
