Job Description:

Position Summary:

Develop, document, and drive the release of new product improvements from concept phase to production. Interface with cross-functional teams, directly interact with customers in order to analyze market opportunities, create project goals, and drive deliverables to completion. Responsible for both customer satisfaction and the financial performance of assigned projects. Mentor peers and lower-level engineering staff.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Technical change management coordination across multiple product lines.
  • Lead the effort to perform root cause analyses, resolve and implement product fixes, modifications, and design enhancements.
  • Track, troubleshoot, and identify the root cause for product issues.
  • Drive full documentation of design updates including, BOM, drawings, and procedures.
  • Support the transfer of new products from engineering to manufacturing.
  • Lead yield improvement, product cost reduction, and product variability reduction projects.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as senior leaders, project managers, and customers, to assess the impact and readiness for change.
  • Communicate the vision and benefits of change and provide support and guidance throughout the change management process.
  • Run projects with limited oversight from management.
  • Consistent interaction with OEM customers; however, critical communication and/or negotiations are reviewed with the management team before release.
  • Establish project targets both through internal research and customer interaction.
  • Organize the project timeline and action items including design, test, NPI, quality, and manufacturing team deliverables.
  • Track multiple projects to their targets and reports to upper management at key milestones.

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:
  • Automotive PPAP and APQP exposure required - mastery preferred.
  • Change management exposure required - Automotive change management experience preferred Ex. SREA / Forever Requirement / ECR / PCR.
  • Understanding of lean six-sigma tools, process certification, SPC, and standard work is preferred.
  • Prior experience and knowledge in phase gate development process for complex products.
  • Engineering design knowledge.
  • Creo/3D modeling or similar CAD design software experience is desirable.
  • Strong Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to synthesize complex information into easy to digest form.
  • Microsoft Office Suite - Including Microsoft Project.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

BS in Engineering

Experience:

8+ years of experience in product development, change management, and project management.

Experience in automotive or related industry.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Office Environment

Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer.
