My client is a general contractor with 8 offices across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Founded over 70 years ago, it has a long history of providing construction services across various sectors including healthcare, educational, industrial, institutional, and residential projects.
About the opportunity
They are currently looking for an experienced Estimator to work in any of their offices across North Carolina and South Carolina.
Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
Bid Preparation: Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating prices and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
Resource Management: Collaborate with project managers to identify project requirements, establish budgets, and assist in value engineering efforts.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation. Generate reports and summaries for internal review and client presentations.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction methodologies to improve estimating techniques and cost-saving opportunities.

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
8+ years' experience working as an Estimator
Estimating experience working for a General Contractor preferred
Experience working on healthcare and educational projects desirable
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
