This position will serve as the initial point of contact for all visitors at the U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory and provide administrative support to the Location Support Staff and Laboratory Director. Responsibilities include receiving incoming telephone calls and visitors, assisting with travel arrangements, and filling in for the Laboratory Director's Secretary during periods of absence.
Duties include:
Receives incoming telephone calls and visitors;
Receives, reviews, and routes incoming mail and packages;
Uses office automation equipment and software to type, edit, and create a variety of standard documents;
Sends and receives electronic mail and operates office photocopier;
Fills in for office secretary or other clerical employees during periods of absence.
Please NOTE: This internship is located in Fort Pierce, FL and requires interns to do work in-person. This position is limited to local commuting area candidate only (within 50 miles radius).
