This position will be responsible for booking and maintaining carrier services for multiple accounts. In this role, the incumbent will develop and set up new carriers daily, while establishing relationships for future business. The incumbent will also be responsible for dispatching trucks while maintaining compliance and cost.
Summary of essential job functions
Daily solicitation both customer and potential new customers
Providing competitive rates for all modes of inland transportation, and following up on quotes
Carrier relations and building new carrier base
Vendor management, monitoring insurance and authorities
Tracing and tracking shipments using TMS system
Trouble shipment processing and follow up
Send tracing updates and/or reports to customers
Dispatching shipments to carriers
Daily data entry of new shipments and quotes
Documentation scanning and uploading
Processing carrier variances
EDI Management
Minimum Requirements
Basic knowledge of current transportation rules and regulations
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
