Job Description:

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations. The Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, and implementing effective financial controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual financial audit process with external auditors.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and filings.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting systems, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
