We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic individual to join our team as the Vice President of Finance at our Trenton, IL headquarters. The Vice President of Finance will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the financial strategy of the company. This strategic leader will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, providing insightful analysis, guiding financial decision-making, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will possess a strong blend of financial expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision to drive the company's financial success.

JFW boasts a network of 7 distribution centers, 11 regional delivery hubs and over 450 team members. Our customer base includes approximately 5,000 retail locations.

Strategic Direction:

  • Develop and execute a clearly defined financial strategy to support consistent business growth.
  • Lead financial efforts companywide, fostering collaboration and teamwork across departments.
  • Align financial functions with corporate direction to achieve growth and profitability goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align financial strategies with operational goals.

Executive Leadership:

  • Serve as a key advisor to the executive team, providing financial insights and guidance.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership in strategic planning to shape future investment strategies.
  • Work with the Board of Directors to align financial strategies with company goals.

Financial Management:
  • Drive the budgeting and forecasting process, incorporating key business drivers and market trends.
  • Prepare accurate and insightful financial reports to support informed decision-making.
  • Provide financial due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships.
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating financial terms of transactions.
  • Monitor financial performance against targets and provide timely insights to the executive team.
  • Analyze financial data, trends, and metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and cost efficiencies.
  • Coordinate data to assist in forecasting the future financial impact of projections.
  • Optimize working capital and financing strategies to maximize capital efficiency.
  • Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.

Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Identify and assess financial risks, proposing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, reporting standards, and internal controls. .
  • Develop financial models to support scenario planning and risk assessments.
  • Identify and assess financial risks, proposing strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners, including financial institutions, auditors, and legal advisors.

Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and assess team members' contributions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
  • Experience working with lower middle market private equity backed portfolio firms is a plus.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in progressively responsible finance roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position.
  • The candidate that accepts the position will report to and collaborate with the current CFO, who intends to retire in the next two years.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, tax and compliance, accounting principles, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial insights into actionable strategies.
