The Regulatory Analyst will provide analytical rates and policy work of moderate complexity in support of AECC's regulatory requirements. Analytical work will involve reviewing and synthesizing regulatory filings made at the state and federal levels. Primarily, the Regulatory Analyst will be responsible for assisting in development of testimony, cost support and related evidentiary materials for rate and policy filings.
Responsibilities
Assist in state and federal regulatory actions and assisting the Senior Director and principal case manager(s) and/or witnesses in case development and analytical support throughout the regulatory process.
Obtain and analyze data for inclusion in exhibits, reports and other for support in regulatory proceedings.
Analyze, interpret, and summarize filings, testimony, proposals, reports, pleadings, and discovery responses of other parties.
Assist in implementing regulatory decisions, including creating and/or revising moderately complex tariffs, billing, and regulatory accounting rules as directed by supervisor.
Ability to draft reports and papers with analytical skills to understand mathematical questions.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Public Policy or related/translatable field, plus 5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Public Policy, or related/translatable field
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
An understanding of utility rates, cost of service studies, and cost recovery principles; familiarity with and experience in a regulatory environment is desirable.
