PSG has partnered with a top commercial general contractor looking to hire a Vice President of Finance to join their successful, fast-growing business. The VP of Finance will be responsible for overseeing various financial aspects of the organization and ensuring effective management of corporate cash, financial reporting, accounting processes, program management, tax management, banking operations, compliance, software integration, and operations. This business is currently operating in four with soon to be five office locations, and the VP of Finance will play a crucial role in driving the financial success of the company and supporting their growth strategies.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Cash Management: Develop and implement cash management strategies to optimize cash flow, minimize risk, and maximize returns. Monitor and analyze cash positions, liquidity requirements, and cash forecasting to ensure adequate funds are available for daily operations and future investments. (Construction and Real Estate)
Monthly Reporting: Prepare monthly profit and loss (P&L) and balance sheet (BS) statements. Provide detailed analysis and insights on financial performance, highlighting key trends, areas of concern, and improvement opportunities.
Current & Forecasted Cash: Monitor and forecast cash flows to identify potential shortfalls or excess funds. Develop strategies to optimize cash utilization and investments.
Work in Progress (WIP): Work with the Accounting Manager in WIP schedule oversight and ensure accurate tracking of ongoing projects, collaborating with project managers to review project statuses, costs, and revenues. Collaborate with project managers to evaluate financial viability, profitability, and risks associated with new projects.
Budgeting & Budget Oversight: Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets. Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations for cost control and improvement.
Program Management: Provide financial oversight and analysis for various programs and projects. Bonus Program Management & Project Closeout: Develop formal documentation for project closeout processes. Establish and manage a bonus program aligned with project milestones and performance metrics.
Tax Management & Forecasting: Oversee tax planning, compliance, and forecasting activities. Work with tax advisors to identify tax mitigation strategies and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Banking: Manage real estate loans and bank lines of credit (LOC). Monitor interest rates, negotiate favorable terms, and maintain banking relationship.
Compliance/Risk/Regulatory: Maintain a comprehensive list of all licenses, bonds, insurance, and regulatory requirements applicable to the company. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Software: Ensure seamless data flow and accurate reporting of Procore/Sage systems. Manage the integration of accounting systems such as Sage and Bill.com for streamlined operations.
Operations oversight
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting
Strong background in finance, accounting, or business analytics essential.
10+ years of financial experience; 5+ years of management experience.
Industry experience required (Construction, General Contractor)
Energetic, team-player that functions well in entrepreneurial and growth environment.
Effective communicator across all levels of the organization; strong oral and written skills; willingness to share information.
