Our client, an education and trade association non-profit is seeking an interim Director of Finance consultant with potential for hire. This role will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and finance operations. It will include management of budgeting, general accounting, endowment administration, and financial reporting. Ideal candidates will have experience managing a finance group while desiring to work for a community service organization.
Responsibilities:
Provide detailed financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis
Develop and monitor financial control systems designed to preserve assets; developing and ensuring accounting policies and procedures are followed.
Lead month-end close, general ledger activity, and year-end audit preparation
Support continual process improvements and system enhancements
Overseeing contracts with federal, city, and state agencies.
Working closely with the Finance Committee, Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, and staff organization wide.
Partner with internal and external leaders
Qualifications:
B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Prefer significant non-profit expertise
10-15 years of progressive Accounting experience
3-5+ years of Finance Management or accounting leadership experience
Strong presentation and communication skills to interact with executives
