Our client is actively seeking a Data Engineer to join their team as they transition from SQL Server to a sophisticated Snowflake and PowerBI environment. This position prioritizes strong SQL and Python programming skills to maintain, enhance, and develop our client's Cloud data analytics and BI solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in data management practices and be eager to learn new technologies, for which training will be provided.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
Develop and optimize data pipelines using SQL and Python, ensuring robustness and scalability.
Administer Snowflake environments, including user provisioning, role setup, and securing data during ingestion and manipulation.
Collaborate closely with business and IT teams to translate complex business requirements into effective data models and technical specifications.
Support and enhance existing data models and ETL processes, and actively contribute to new development projects.
Design and implement analytical solutions that provide deep insights into business operations, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for front-end reporting in Power BI.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python is required; these are the core technical skills for this role.
Practical experience with Snowflake, including query execution, data security, and basic administrative functions.
Experience in building and maintaining ETL processes and developing data models.
Analytical mindset with the ability to understand and influence the backend architecture of reports, not merely execute them.
Familiarity with BI tools, specifically Microsoft Power BI.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across diverse teams.
