Job Description:

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
  • The Quality Manager oversees all activities and staff of our quality department. The position is responsible to develop, implement and maintain a quality system for the local Schuler operation. The operation includes (a) the production of automotive components and (b) the manufacturing of production equipment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement quality control processes, procedures, and policies to ensure that our products and services meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to quality and identify trends,
  • Lead, manage and train team members on quality control processes, provide guidance and coaching.
  • Communicate with the other departments, and with management to ensure that quality control processes are aligned with business objectives.
  • Perform quality audits, identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Work with our suppliers and vendors to ensure that purchased components meet the quality standard.
  • Manage and maintain quality control documentation, ensuring that all necessary records and reports are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to quality control, sharing knowledge and insights with team members.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality or Mechanical Engineering
  • Five years of experience in related field required
  • Good knowledge of mechanical engineering and machine components.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of quality systems, processes and problem solving tools such as APQP, SPC, 8D, Six Sigma, process development and improvement plans.
  • Ability to read and understand product specifications and blueprints.
  • Able to use inspection gages such as micrometers, calipers and indicators,
  • Able to analyze data and present and create reports.
  • Able to support organization's Quality Management systems in line with standards.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English with advanced reading and writing skills
  • German and/or Portuguese Language skills would be a plus.
  • Visa holders/English as Second Language (ESL) individuals must take TOEFL exam and score above passing grade.
