Our client is a major refinery in the Los Angeles area serving the fuel transportation and aviation fuel needs of the western United States. Operates an integrated network of strategic assets that creates and sells refined petroleum products, from feedstock acquisition to wholesale, commercial and retail sales outlets.
The Role
Our client is developing significant projects that will increase refinery efficiency, improve sustainability, reduce emissions, and update the process control system. Successful candidates will be assigned as the MOC/HAZOP Coordinator. The successful candidate will be a self-directed, highly organized, and motivated individual. The position requires the ability to interface with project teams that include all refinery departments, engineering contractors, and equipment vendors and manufacturers.
Responsibilities
Set-up MOC/HAZOP strategy with Project Engr/Mgr and PSM team
Facilitate Evaluation MOC meeting with project lead
Administrative work of assigning MOC tasks to the right people
Ensure proper documents are attached to the MOCs
Ensure MOCs are set up properly for turnover without any issues
Ensure MOCs meet the required criteria particularly at the end of the stage
Coordinate HAZOPs
Understand cutover/turnover strategy
Help define children MOCs
Assist System Turnover Coordinator
Identifying system turnover on P&IDs
Develop System Turnover Plan
Keep track of the MOCs and report status as needed
Work with project team to ensure action items are completed prior to closing out MOC
Minimum/Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering
Highly organized
Preferred Qualifications
HAZOP Certification (will train if not present)
1 yr. MOC experience
Familiarity with Intelex or other project/MOC management tools
Operations or Engineering experience in oil refineries
