Our client located in Nashville, TN is seeking an Economic Development Project Administrator to join their team.
The Economic Development Project Manager is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
The Economic Development Department Project Administrator's primary responsibility is to support the Economic Development Department office in administration of projects, particularly in core competency areas that include nation rebuilding, and sovereignty of member Tribal nations
This responsibility will require excellent communication, diplomacy, judgment, planning, and project coordination skills
The project administrator will engage Economic Development Department staff to carryout administrative responsibilities to support fulfillment of program and grant objectives
Project and Grants Management:
Aid Economic Development Director regarding grant execution phases to include startup or kickoff meetings; periodic review of grant progress; budget monitoring and modifications when necessary; proactively addressing project related issues; and completion of grant close out
Assist with review of all grant awards and documentation, determine any special grant requirements/terms/conditions, and ensure Economic Development staff are aware of any special requirements/terms/conditions at the outset of grant execution
Create a monitoring method or database of Economic Development grants that tracks grant deliverables, timelines, reporting milestones, and other grant related metrics
Assist coordination of work plans and timelines for projects especially those involving cross disciplinary teams
Maintain well organized filing systems for all grant application-related documents, as well as required documentation in compliance with Economic Development and funding agency requirements (electronic and hard copy)
Manage all aspects of the proposal development process within Economic Development and coordinate with the Grant Coordinator throughout the process
Facilitate collaboration with Economic Development staff, consultants, subcontractors, funding agencies, and all other contributors to organize and produce high quality competitive applications and reports
Serve as a liaison with Grant Coordinator to design proposal outlines
Review funding announcements with Grant Coordinator to interpret guidelines, agency policies, technical, financial, and administrative requirements
Maintain an updated calendar for grant applications/proposals submission and reporting timelines
Organize and compile all components of proposals, ensure that all requirements are addressed thoroughly, and review overall application for accuracy and completeness
Editing and Technical Writing:
Review and edit documents for Economic Development projects, including grant applications, progress reports, final project reports, training manuals, project plans, policy and budget analysis, and other related documents
Write, design, and organize templates for grant proposals, continuations, and letters of intent and support
Engage the Communications Team for assistance in preparation of various materials that are intended for external audiences, such as informational brochures, meeting or training announcements, reports, promotional materials, agendas, save-the-date flyers, social media postings, and similar publications
Assist Economic Development Director in searches for appropriate funding opportunities that align with member Tribal nations' needs and priorities
Communicate with Economic Development staff and Grant Coordinator about potential funding opportunities that support member Tribal nations' needs and priorities and build funding stability to meet those needs and priorities
Participate in Economic Development meetings and activities on a regular basis
Provide evaluation support to projects as needed
Perform literature searches related to economic development theories and best practices as needed
In coordination with staff, implement and manage training activities and workshops for member Tribal nations
Manage communication and follow up with key stakeholders and partners
Liaise with other programmatic offices as it relates to the activities of economic development, including but not limited areas related in social determinates of health
Performs other duties and assignments as directed by Economic Development Director
Qualifications:
A minimum of an associate degree from an accredited college with experience in business administration or project management
Knowledge of grant funding and grants management
Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with numerous participants
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse or multi-disciplinary teams
Possess excellent verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills
High level of proficiency in technical writing
Proficient with software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat
Proficient with video meeting software, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and GoToMeeting
Cultural sensitivity and respect for the customs and traditions of Tribal nations
Ability to travel and work irregular hours as needed
