Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Head of Estate and Philanthropic Services. In this specialist role, you will be dedicated to supporting advisors and their high-net-worth clients by delivering comprehensive estate and philanthropic plans. Your expertise will guide clients through their current estate plans while proposing new strategies to align with their wealth transfer goals. You will work closely with advisors, preparing and presenting detailed plan summaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan Review and Analysis: Evaluate clients' existing estate plans, ensuring they understand their plans' structure and function.
  • Strategic Planning: Collect and analyze data on clients' wealth transfer goals, offering innovative strategies and observations.
  • Deliverable Creation: Conduct thorough research and data gathering to create detailed estate and philanthropic plans, presenting them to advisors and occasionally to clients.
  • Advisor Support: Address ad-hoc estate and philanthropic planning questions to provide additional support to advisors and their clients.
  • Expertise Development: Stay informed on complex estate and philanthropic planning concepts, legal developments, and changes in laws.
  • Advisor Education: Educate advisors on contemporary estate and philanthropic planning techniques, serving as a subject matter expert.

Ideal Candidate Profile: We are looking for a candidate with excellent customer service skills and exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. You should have strategic thinking, analytical skills, project management capabilities, and outstanding time management. The ability to collaborate effectively while driving independent initiatives is essential. While legal experience is required, this role does not involve providing legal advice or practicing law.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate (JD)
  • 7+ years of experience in trust and estate planning or wealth management

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced designations such as CPA, LLM, or CFP
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience in servicing the needs of affluent and institutional clients
  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in software/systems such as MS Office, Crescendo, and Brentmark
