What you will be doing:
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, piping isometrics, and 3D models.
  • Evaluate specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and the content of QMax's estimates/proposals.
  • Perform Take-offs from customer drawings to estimate the materials, engineering, and labor required to complete a project.
  • Use QMax's suite of thermal analysis and quote/estimate programs to specify equipment and develop estimates.
  • Coordinate and communicate between QMax's project development team and customers to acquire information relevant to developing estimates, setting QMax and customers up for effective project execution.
  • Provide technical support to QMax employees regarding the thermal and mechanical aspects of applications.

What we are looking for:
  • Experience with technical estimating, engineering specifications and processes, and capital project scale applications.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, ME Technology, or other similar discipline.
  • Work experience or familiarity with industrial piping systems, tanks, and associated equipment. Experience with heat tracing and heat transfer preferred but not required.
  • Software Experience preferred:
  • MS Office (emphasis on Excel), QuickBooks, CRM utilization, Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with CAD (2D AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor) and rendering software (AutoDesk Fusion or KeyShot)
  • Ability to comprehend budget structures and medium to large project schedules/time frames.
  • Flexibility for occasional traveling.
  • Organized and technical mindset with the ability to absorb detailed information, summarize it, and communicate it effectively with customers, vendors, and teammates via, phone, email, and in person/in the field.
