We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior UI Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual UI design and experience working in the medical device industry. This role involves designing complex user interfaces with a focus on usability and efficiency. The Senior UI Designer will collaborate with various functions including clinical engineering, software engineering, and product management to create exceptional user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Absorb, digest, and process complex technical and functional information into useful, usable, and efficient workflows, screen layouts, and interactions.
Advocate for strong user-centered design practices and drive cross-functional engagement within the organization.
Champion and apply solid user experience and visual design principles and best practices to design, iterate, prototype, test, and document.
Bring a strong visual design perspective to the organization for the next generation of embedded UIs for surgical robotics.
Collaborate with frontend and backend software teams, clinical engineers, product managers, and others to design and build detailed prototypes for evaluation with users as well as regular release candidates for our product UIs.
Support preparation and moderation of user evaluations and generative user research.
Support the development and maintenance of UI requirements and documentation.
About You:
5+ years of relevant experience, with a preference for experience in the medical device industry.
Comfortable with technical complexity and turning that into crisp requirements, easy-to-digest overviews, or simply asking the right questions.
Rich portfolio demonstrating a high degree of visual polish in storytelling as well as product UI execution. Experience in embedded UIs is preferred.
Experience designing for a variety of touchpoints ranging from tablet-sized and large desktop-sized touch displays.
Good sense of when to challenge perspectives and dream big, and when to provide the rigid structure for efficiency.
Knack for learning new things and complex products that go beyond just a touchscreen UI.
Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and eager to learn from others, but equally excited to deep-dive on your own.
Eager to bring an outside perspective on design and inspiration into the design team.
Hard Skills Required:
Strong visual UI design skills.
Demonstrable structure in approach through portfolio case studies.
Highly complex prototyping in Figma.
Strong UI documentation skills.
Demonstrable skills in designing simple UIs for complex features with numerous constraints.
