Onsite Packaging Manager

Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced Packaging Manager (PM) to oversee and manage packaging inventory operations.

The PM will be responsible for ensuring the availability and quality of packaging materials, optimizing inventory levels, and implementing efficient inventory management practices to support our production and distribution goals. The PM is responsible for cross-departmental coordination to manage the full lifecycle of packaging development, including innovation, redesign, line extensions, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Manager (PM) to oversee and manage packaging inventory operations

The PM will be responsible for ensuring the availability and quality of packaging materials, optimizing inventory levels, and implementing efficient inventory management practices to support our production and distribution goals

The packaging manager is responsible for all aspects of product packaging in a company, including supervising packaging operations and leading a department.

Responsibilities:
  • Quality control
  • Overseeing quality control and reporting defects, process deviations, and other issues
  • Staff management
  • Assigning tasks to packaging associates, helping to hire and train new workers, and coordinating staff training and skill development
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, and scheduling equipment maintenance
  • Inventory management
  • Maintaining packaging inventories, ensuring that the proper packaging materials and products are available, and contributing to budgets and performance reports
  • Efficiency
  • Making recommendations to improve packaging operations and maintaining an efficient schedule
  • Customer relationships
  • Managing customer relationships and providing accurate and timely packaging information
  • Continuous improvement
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing continuous improvement projects

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 4 years of experience or 8 years of experience in packaging/inventory management.

Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices, including demand forecasting, replenishment, and stock control

The candidate should also be self-motivated, disciplined, adaptable to change, able to prioritize and complete tasks with a sense of urgency, while maintaining a strong sense of business integrity in a fast-paced environment

***Able to be onsite M-F. (No remote or hybrid available)***

Travel Requirements: up to 15%
