The Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. This individual will also be responsible for reconciling credit card transactions and Concur payments.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Charges expenses to accounts and department by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Maintains historical records properly filing documents.
Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Assists in tracking of project expenditure by properly coding invoices.
Process deposits as required throughout the year and file bank documentation.
Supports and follows all Cove Communities policy at all times.
All other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
5+ years' experience in accounts payable
Knowledge in the Concur platform
Ability to use Microsoft productivity software such as Excel and Word
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational ability
Effective corporate communications skills
Ability to consistently meet all deadlines
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline a plus
