Accounting Assistant - Accounts Payable Specialist

Established cabling company looking for a full-time Accounting Assistant with a working knowledge of Accounts Payable to be part of our accounting team. Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

• Enter vendor invoices into computer providing an accurate data entry and general ledger coding
• Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Audit and process credit card bills
• Process expense reports for reimbursement
• Maintain and organize filing system.
• Handle vendor relations/discrepancies/credit memo/follow-up.
• Solve problems and resolve outstanding issues as they arise.
• Set up 1099 vendors and maintain W-9 forms
• Process and mail vendor checks on a weekly basis
• Maintaining the billing system, generating invoices.
• Posts customer payments and bank deposits
• Performing account reconciliations
• Performs month-end close duties as assigned.
• Performing other projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have acomplete and thorough knowledge of all accounting functions and procedures.
• 5 Years of accounts experience in construction preferred.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Accounting preferred.
• Communicates well both orally and in writing.
• Microsoft Office, Excel, Sage or QuickBooks Accounting software experience is required
• Well Organized, detailed oriented, time sensitive and a team player
• Must successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
