Position: Teen Program (YASP) Coordinator
Supervisor: Executive Director

The Place is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Norwich, NY that serves Chenango County. The Place was founded in 1983 and has been serving Chenango County youth and young adults through an established continuum of research-based programs to prepare them for college, career, and citizenship.

The Coordinator will devote a portion of their time in the classroom supporting the implementation of curriculum, some of the time will also be spent planning, organizing and implementing services of the program, exercising independent judgment, best practices and decision-making authority as delegated, including but not limited to: following budgets, policies, procedures and proper staff training and supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Minimum of an Associates Degree in related field
2. Experience working with teens and young adults
3. Ability to develop lesson/activity plans for teens
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
General Duties:
The Teen Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing Teen-After School Program at The Place.
Administrative Tasks:
Budgeting for the program. This includes developing the annual program budgets and tracking expenses to ensure the programs stay within the budget.
Working with the Executive Director to obtain program grants and report outcomes to granting agencies. Writing grant narrative as needed, tracking outcomes, and reporting results.
Program Responsibilities:
Teen-After School Program: Develop, implement and oversee the Teen-After School Program
1) Develop age appropriate programming/activities with program participants. Activities should be well-planned and a fun an educational experience for the teens. Developing relationships with the teens teachers and listening to parent feedback will play an important role in developing activities.
2) Follow CACFP requirements under the direction of the administrator of CACFP at The Place.
3) Recruit and retain teens. Responsibilities include ensuring families have a positive experience in the program and working to make changes as needed if there is a negative experience. Relationships with school guidance counselors will be important in recruitment of teens. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the Coordinator to work with Executive Director to market the program.
